They are also described as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acrochordons<\/li>\n<li>Papillomas<\/li>\n<li>Fibroepithelial polyps<\/li>\n<li>Soft fibromas<\/li>\n<li>Pedunculated (this means they are on a stalk)<\/li>\n<li>Filiform (this means they are thread-like)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They\u00a0develop in both men and women as age progress. They appear as skin coloured or darker and range in size from 1mm to 5cm, and are most often found in the skin folds (necks, armpits, groin). They tend to be more numerous in obese people and in those with type 2 diabetes mellitus. They\u00a0are formed \u00a0of loosely arranged collagen fibers and blood vessels surrounded by a thickened or thinned-out epidermis.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row top_margin=&#8221;page_margin_top&#8221;][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;80px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;]<h3 class=\"box-header\">What Causes Skin Tags?<\/h3>[vc_column_text el_position=&#8221;last&#8221;]The cause still remains unknown.
